The server is in Seattle Washington. The actual computer is an Apple Mac Mini 1.2Ghz G4.
|
This map has been operated and has been evolving since early summer 2004. It is designed
by Tadd, Jack and many of the regulars, sysops and cops. We usually see a noticable change every month or so.
|
There are several other bzflag maps run from the same server. Look for "tadd" in the server directory.
|
The GMWAR map is about hiding from GMs, shooting GMs, fire & lock, strategy,
teamwork, and using stealth and sneakiness in a world where GMs are all about the place. The curious rule!

A history of the GMWAR map is here.

No swearing, cheat clients or abusing the COPs is permitted. Banning takes place both as events warrant
and after review of the log files. If you are improperly banned, send a private message to tadd on bzflag.org.

This is an aerial photo of the map. Some of the larger design details are
diagrammed here. Green players and Red players spawn in there own
ready room.
Rogue tanks spawn all over the big field. Rogue is
much more dangerous because you can be spawn killed. The ready rooms protect
the red and green players until they decide to get into the action. Much more restful.

The Gallery consists of three different floors,
G1, G2 (located in the south) and East/Green gallery in the east.
Get to the galleries from the diagonal,
the underworld,
or from the bridge. We have to talk about those elements
next. The important thing about the gallery though is that it is reasonably easy to get to (1 minute from spawning); it
commands half of the big field with GM fire; and it is relatively safe. Gallery G2 is more powerful and safer
than gallery G1.

Discussing the map
|
There are three different ways to discuss the map. Which you use depends on your interest and level of experience.
- New visitor's tour
- Reference book
- Photo guide
We'll do all three. The photo guide starts here. Click on the above links for the other two methods.
