DAMA

DAMA is a protocol for eliminating collisions on a mutliple station channel. On a channel with one node and many users, the node may poll the users, giving each a chance to access the node. The transmission time per QSO is currently limited to about. 4 seconds; parameters cannot be specified currently.

DAMA-Master

DAMA mode may be activated by an "m" in the MODE-Command. It is possible to have several independent DAMA masters at the same time, e.g. for user ports on different frequencies. On multimode ports, the combination "sm" has to be used.

DAMA-Slave

When a channel hears another DAMA master, e.g. when using the system as user frontend, this channel is set to DAMA slave mode automatically. For network nodes this feature can be turned off.
