Amherst Police, Fire and Rescue
Located just off of Rt 101 at the northernmost of the two Rt 122 exits
there are two buildings housing the engines and ambulances and the Police Department.

Meeting Place Shopping Center
On Rt 101, just north-east of the center of town is a shopping center called Meeting
Place. This strip-mall houses the Amherst Post Office, Milford District Court House,
several stores (including a good bagel shop) and a few offices.

Amherst Waste Recycling and Transfer Station
North east of the Meeting Place Shopping Center on Rt 101 is the Amherst Dump. Open
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, this is where the good gossip can be found. General
garbage is dropped off at the lower level, near the road. Recyclables are dropped off at
several containers (big green things) at the top of the hill. Dec 96 |
