This series of photos was taken around the "Green" (more like a
white if you ask me haha) in the winter of 1998-1999.
Heading north on Boston Post Road towards Main Street.
This is one of the first houses on Carriage Road looking
from Boston Post Road near the Village Market.
The Brick School house is just east of Boston Post Road
and north of Main Street. The building served as public primary education for the
town of Amherst until at least the 1950s, having been built soon after the Civil War.
Currently the building is used by the SAU (School Administrative Unit.) I
think this is the administration department for Wilkins, Clark and the Middle School (see grade schools page).
Civil War Monument. This stands just east of the
Brick School.
