Northshore was my first Grand Opening. After visiting the Tyson's Corner store in Virginia this was a must see. Nancy, Jack and I arrived a couple of hours early. We were just behind the 130th people so we didn't get admitted to the store immediately. After hours the line was still incredibly long.

Northshore is the only store, so far, with a reverse layout. The support pillars for the building interfere with where the genius bar should have been. In order to maintain the 'flow' of the store it was mirrored so everything that is normally on the left is now on the right. Printers and accessories are located on the right in this store.

At opening time, 9am, the line was about 4x the 130 or so capacity they were letting in. I was 140 in the line (the staff were counting before the doors opened) and almost made it into the store in the first batch.

This fan had an excellent home made belt with the Apple logo in neon or something like it.

This store differed from the other store I've been to (Tyson's Corner) in that for this store the Genius Bar and kid's area was on the left and the bathrooms, video and printers were on the right. At the Tyson's store it was mirrored. Also they had kidney shaped counters in various places where I don't remember seeing them at Tyson's Corner. The cache(sic) register was in the middle in the front.
