Chris (pilot) and Laura inspecting the airplane

These four photos are just as we are getting airborn. 22z is on the left, 23z and 25z are on the right. 22z and 23z are both west of Everett Turnpike. In 22z, Rt 101A crosses left to right across the middle of the photo. In 25z, Everett Turnpike can be seen running out into the distance.

Our pilot pointed out that we could see Boston on the horizon. I took these two shots aiming south. Pardon the poor visibility to Boston but it is quite a distance from Nashua to Boston! If you look closely at the first frame you can see the Prudential tower and the Hancock tower off the the right of the rest of the buildings.

We flew across Nashua at about exit 6 of the Everett Turnpike then headed across the river into Hudson. This is looking down the Merrimack River from just east of downtown Nashua.
Pardon the wierdness in the lower right. There was a nasty glare and I tried to fix it using a photo-editing program. It was worse in the original.

55_500x333_cd3034

Now we're heading south along the river. This is looking west across downtown Nashua.

56_500x333_cd3034

As a consession to my amateur radio heritage I had to take a picture of these towers in the south end of Hudson across from south Nashua.

57z_417x500_cd3034

This frame, aimed west, shows the north end of the south Nashua strip. The F.E. Everett Turnpike can be seen curving around on the right side of the frame and then heading horizontally across the left side of the photo. The Daniel Webster Highway (called D.W. Highway by the locals) runs parallel to the Everett from about 2" from the right side of the photo (at exit 3), below the Everett.

58_500x333_cd3034

Here is Everett Turnpike's soon to be finished exit 2. Note the ramps which run off into dirt and trees.

59_500x300_cd3034

Near exit 1 of the Everett is the south Nashua Lockheed/Sanders facility. That's the six story building at the right side of the photo. Just to the left and below the Sanders building is Costco which sits on D.W. Highway. Across D.W. Highway and to the right is a complex which includes Toys R Us and a few other major brands.

60_500x300_cd3034

Here's my daughter peeking down at the shopping district. My wife says that even though she's only 9 she knows what's important.

61_500x333_cd3034

The next several frames are of the Pheasant Lane Mall, Costco, and other stores sitting on the border with Massachusetts, on the Daniel Webster Highway.

Now we're winging across south Nashua. Everett Turnpike is visible in running across the upper right.

68_500x333_cd3034

We're heading northwest, just west of Everett Turnpike, at around exit 4. The FAA offices are on our side of the highway, about an inch and a half from the right edge of the frame.

69_500x333_cd3034

Flying north over Hollis, looking back to the left over Rideout Road.

70_500x275_cd3034

Again Hollis. Looking southwest out of the aircraft over Rt 130 and Pine Hill Road

71_500x279_cd3034

Ok. This one I'm pretty sure is looking north from the vicinity of Rt 122. We can see Rt 101A in the distance.

74_500x333_cd3034

Now we've turned north east and we're crossing Rt 101A. One of the things I was looking forward to doing was catching the Amherst Middle School and Souheegan High School on film from the air. These two frames used a 200mm lens looking north east towards the high school.

75_500x283_cd3034
76_500x205_cd3034

Flying on down Rt 101A we come to the Amherst business district. This is where the 35 and 40 mile per hour zones are that many NH residents hate. The largest building in the photo is Wall Mart.

01_500x348_cd3034

Now we're flying just south of the High School. The High School can plainly be seen from the plane, on the plain at the left of the photo. The rain on the plain goes mainly down the drain, leaving quite a stain, the removal of which is a pain.
The Amherst Middle School is just to the right of the High School. You can see Honey Pot Pond to the right of the Middle School.

04_500x339_cd3034

Now we're passing Wall Mart. The area just left and above the Wall Mart used to be an antiques flea market. To the right of the Wall Mart is an industrial area. Lots of companies, small and large.

06z_500x260_cd3034

This area is directly south of where we were when we took the Wall Mart photo. This makes it west of Wall Mart. We're looking at the intersection of Veteran's Road and Rt 101A. You can see the condos around the golf course.

07_500x333_cd3034

Here you can see the Amherst Middle School, Honey Pot Pond, and Cross Road running up the center of the picture between the two. The wide, straight, band of devistation to the left of the middle school and running up the picture is a power line right-of-way.

08_500x333_cd3034

This photo was an excellent photo op of a house near the Middle School. I wonder who lives here and what they'll say when I sneak a print-out of this picture into their mailbox?

12_500x333_cd3034

These three frames look down on Honey Pot Pond and Little Honey Pot and you can see the Amherst Middle School and Souheegan High School to the left. In front of us is western Merrimack NH.

14_500x333_cd3034
15_500x333_cd3034

These two pictures are off the left wing, behind us as we come into Nashua field. These pictures are of eastern Amherst and the west side of Merrimack. The white blob in the first photo is a headset that was sitting in the left rear seat of the airplane.

16_500x333_cd3034
17_500x333_cd3034

Now we're coming in for a Landing. Boire Field (Nashua Airport) is in front of us.
