TYT TH-9000d front panel programming
This is what I found.

P1 is send DTMF memory
P1 hold is CLONE
P2 is squelch open/close
P2 hold is display-voltage
P3 is switch from VFO to memory or back
P3 hold is start scan up when in VFO
P4 is tuning-steps-is-megahertz when in VFO
P4 hold is repeater frequency offset when in VFO press and hold P4 to change offset. repeat as needed. P3 to exit
F5 hold goes into the DTMF memory selector. selector knob selects DTMF memory# Press and hold F5 again erases the selected menu. mic keyboard enters DTMF pattern
Function F1 - selects next Tx power level, Hi Mid Lo Hi (note “Hi” is not displayed)
Function F2 - turns on square wave item
Function F3 - write memory channel (works in VFO mode OR memory mode)
Function F4 - in VFO mode, does nothing. In Memory mode does nothing
Function F5 - toggle the Lock (of the control panel)
Keyboard Func 1 goes into squelch set mode as well
Keyboard Func 6 repeater reverse
Keyboard Func 9 does talk-around
P5 enter tone number P4 save and exit
To program a memory channel, use P3 to go to VFO. Enter the frequency. Use P4-hold to set the offset (see above), and P5 to enter Tone (see above). Rotate selector to find a memory channel to write (note that the M flashes if the channel is empty) and then hit P3 quickly to write the memory.
Setup Menus
press FUNCTION for several seconds then F1 and F2 to select an option
F5 confirms and exits
selector knob changes a value
menu 01 selects VHF channel step 2.5khz 5, 6.25, 8.3?, 10, 12.5, 20, 25. 30, 50 only accessible if in VFO mode
menu 02 controls 2-tone, 5-tone, DTMF, sending.
menu 03, 04, 05, 06 seem to be related to tone signaling. not typical ham stuff
menu 07 HIGH/MID/LOW selection
menu 08 controls tx and rx bandwidth. BAND-25 is our standard
menu 09 disables/enables the transmitter. Use this to make a receive-only channel.
menu 10 busy-channel-lockout. Can’t transmit if there is a carrier detected.
menu 11 name a channel - knob selects letter, F5 go to next, F3 go back, F4 exit. this does not seem to cause the name to show up though.
menu 12 repeater reverse
menu 13 talk-around, i.e. simplex on the output, asserts CTCSS as configured for this channel
menu 14 voice compander selector knob chooses on/off
menu 15 Scrambler enable 8 groups with selector knob F5 to confirm
menu 16 DTMF self ID (can’t be changed?)
menu 17 self-ID inquiry (i don’t know how to change this)
menu 18 beep enable/disable selector knob chooses
menu 19 Time Out Timer
menu 20 APO Automatic Power Off selector knob OFF 30 60 120
menu 21 DTMF Transmitting time selector knob 30 50 100 200 300 — 30 is fastest
menu 22 SQL Squelch level selector knob OF 01 02 03 …. 19 20 0F 01 02 …
menu 23 SCAN selector knob TO CO SE TO pause for 15 seconds if busy CO pause until signal goes away, SE stop forever if signal present
menu 24 LED Backlight 01 02 03 … 31 32 01 01 is off 32 is brightest
menu 25 backlight color selector 1 2 3 1=blue 2=red 3=purple
menu 26 DSP display mode FR CH NM FR is frequency CH is channel # NM is name from setup menu #11
menu 27 TB Tone Burst 1750 2100 1000 1450 hertz.
menu 28 CODE Power on password ON or OF leave it OF
menu 29 BOOK Address list.
menu 30 RESTORE Restore some of the radio to factory default FACT or SETUP
FACT resets channel signaling and early menus? SETUP restores menu 18 to 28 to factory defaults
I suspect some of the features referred to in the setup menu must be programmed into the radio using some PC application.
